Play: Dubstep Hero is kind of like Guitar Hero

It was probably only a matter of time before someone decided to do a dubstep version of Guitar Hero, and here it is: Dubstep Hero. They clearly didn’t spend much time thinking about the name, so hopefully the game itself got a little more attention. It’s not a particularly complex game. You can see pretty much all it has to offer in the below video.

Dubstep Hero is reasonably fun for a few minutes. If you’re a fan of dubstep who also happens to be into these tapping-in-rhythm games, then you’re in for a treat. Otherwise, there’s not much longevity here. The game, which is only available for Android, is free, which is cool, but you have to put up with ads unless you cough up the 99 cents for the full game. If you do so, you’ll also be able to upload and tap along with your own music collection.

The trouble with this game is that the sequences are often a bit out of time with the music, and when you’re playing, the tracks just kind of randomly fade out to end the game, which is rather unfulfilling. A little custom sound editing would’ve come in handy.

Overall, Dubstep Hero is all right and good for a quick giggle.
