Microsoft probably has another Age of Empires title in the works as we speak. This speculation comes from a Microsoft job advert that states the following:
“The Decisive Games team is focused on world class strategy game development, and is building a studio that will bring the next instalment in a beloved strategy game franchise to the next generation of gamers around the world. This is a highly-collaborative, agile team, with a play-centric approach to game development. Be part of Microsoft Game Studios, and help us create the next-generation of awesome games for Windows and Xbox!”
Age of Empires has always been a fan favourite strategy game and many gamers, including us here at Gamer UK have been hoping for a new title within the franchise. A note AOE fans should relay to Microsoft is that gamers want a full Age of Empires strategy game like the original 3, not another free to play game that throws micro-transactions people faces or some mobile game.
Age of Empire fans got to play one of the best games in the series as a remastered edition, Age of Empires II. Imagine an awesome game like AOE II with next-gen graphics and a wider player base with lots of new additions. Heres hoping Microsoft and the developers take a page from AOE I, II and III games and make an incredible strategy game for PC and Xbox.
Its a good idea to note that there has been no conformation or solid evidence as of yet that the studio is actually working on an AOE title. It was mention as a ‘a beloved strategy game franchise’ but what else could it be?
Would you be as happy as us if they were working on a proper Age Of Empires game? Let us know!
