Paris Saint-Germain are finalizing the signing of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco for a fee of around €150 million plus a player, according to a report from ESPN FC.
PSG had been hesitant to make an offer Mbappe, who plays for their rivals, and they were exploring ways to acquire the the 18-year-old without having to commit significant money for the next year to do so.
But PSG, after careful consideration, have decided that it is more valuable and beneficial to work out a deal for a player that they believe to be a generational talent.
Thursday’s Champions League group-stage draw offered PSG the chance to travel to Monaco to negotiate terms of a deal which is assumed to be close to completion and around €150m.
Numerous reports suggest that Lucas Moura will be part of the deal as well, if Moura can be persuaded to make the switch while also mentioning that Goncalo Guedes is a player who is of interest as well.
Guedes is likely the fallback option if Moura declines a move.
PSG is interested in striking a deal for Monaco’s Fabinho, similar to the one that they have for Mbappe.
