Manchester City are preparing to offer Raheem Sterling in a player-plus-cash deal for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, according to a report from ESPN FC.
However, reports indicate Man City wants a cash-only deal for Sanchez and that they have not offered Sterling to the Gunners.
City boss Pep Guardiola has been targeting Sanchez the entire summer and has been rebuked by Arsenal who have insisted that he is not for sale.
Guardiola is now ready to give up the 22-year-old by offering him in exchange, plus money, to try to persuade Arsenal to sell them Sanchez in return before Thursday’s transfer deadline, as reported by the Mirror.
Arsenal says that there is a rush to include Sterling in a deal but that they are resistant.
