Italy’s Open Reel Takes On International Sales for ‘Labyrinths’

Italy’s Open Reels is taking on the international sales for Giulio Donato’s debut feature film ‘Labyrinths’ while also unveiling a number of United States deals for some of the titles that they have, according to ScreenDaily.

Donato also wrote the film that tells the tale of two friends who take opposite paths in their respective lives from the repressed, difficult society they were both born into, set in the rugged mountains of Italy’s southern region of Calabria.

Per the report, Open Reel has sold North American rights for four features to Los Angeles-based distribution company Dark Star Pictures:

  • Juliana Rojas’ Berlinale Encounters title Cidade; Campo
  • Mexican director Julián Hernández Demons At Dawn
  • French directors Nicolas Bellenchombre and Arthur Delamotte’s The Bearded Mermaid
  • British-Nigerian director Joseph A. Adesunloye’s Vanilla.

Additionally, Artiztical Entertainment has officially picked up North American rights to Roberto Cuzzillo’s Malanova, Germany’s GM Films has bought Demons At Dawn and Nicolás Herzog’s Elda And The Monsters, and France’s Optimale has picked up Demons At Dawn, among others moves.
